THIS is the haul of drugs that was seized by police in Southampton after they acted on a tip-off from a member of the public.
About 200 wraps of what is thought to be crack cocaine and heroin - with an estimated street value of up to £10,000 - were recovered and stopped from being sold on the city's streets.
The drugs were found on a suspect during a stop and search by officers who were able to identify him from information given by
worried residents in the St Mary's area of the city who reported a man acting suspiciously.
As revealed in later editions of yesterday's Daily Echo, a 36-year-old man from London was arrested as a result of the operation at 11.45pm on Monday.
He spent yesterday being questioned by
officers on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply.
Police have praised members of the public who rang in with the information that led to the arrest.
It is that type of intelligence that they say is crucial to reducing drugs-related crime and is the message behind the Daily Echo-backed Rat on a Rat campaign.
