JUSTIN Rose ended his long wait for a win when took the $42,000 first prize in a skins tournament at the DLF Golf and Country Club in New Delhi.
The 24-year-old Hampshire golfer beat off a challenge from British Open champion Todd Hamilton and US PGA Tour leading money winner Vijay Singh, as well as Sweden's rising young star Daniel Chopra.
"It was great to win again after over two years, but unfortunately it wasn't a ranking event!" smiled Rose, who won six of the holes in the tournament.
This week Rose moves on to Japan to play the Casio World Open and he may finish the year by teeing off in the Hong Kong Open, second event of the new European Tour season, on December 2.
But Rose's schedule for 2005 includes only one European Tour event, the Volvo PGA Championship at Wentworth on May 26-29.
He will have to qualify for the The Open at St Andrews but otherwise he has planned his year around the USPGA Tour.
