REMEMBRANCE Sunday: Was a special occasion at Christ the King Church.
Many people attended the service and young people included Cubs wearing blue, Scouts in dark green and Brownies in yellow, and their standards were beside the altar.
The music group accompanied the first hymn, Eternal Father Strong to Save.
We were encouraged to have hope for the future and remembered our Armed Forces serving in Iraq.
ROYAL British Legion: Musicians and leaders conducted the service beside the War Memorial at the Civic Offices.
I was late arriving, having finally found a parking place, and joined a large gathering listening to the band and singing hymns.
Heartfelt thoughts and prayers were said for those who died serving their country.
I could not see well for the crowd, but I was in the right place, at the end of the service, to admire, as they marched away, musicians, smart cadets in uniform and young people from many different organisations.
OVER-50s Club at Brighton Hill Community Association: Held a successful bazaar on November 13.
Winners gained fine raffle prizes and stalls were selling soft toys, knitwear, cakes, marmalade and fancy goods.
This is a friendly group that meets on Monday and Thursday, from 1.30pm to 4pm.
People play bingo, enjoy chatting and refreshments. They also have fun on outings and at parties.
