JUSTIN ROSE secured an unconventional win in a skins event in India - but it was still a triumph he was very happy to achieve.

Competing against world number one Vijay Singh, Open champion Todd Hamilton and Daniel Chopra, Rose won $42,500 by beating his opponents at the DLF Gold and Country Club on the outskirts of New Delhi.

Rose said: "There was a great crowd there and I managed to win the 2nd, 3rd, 8th, 12th, 13th and 15th holes to collect a good total!

"Unfortunately, I did not win the 11th or 17th, which were both rollover holes, as they went to Daniel, but it was still enough to finish ahead of him, with Vijay third and Todd drawing a blank.

"I just made the most of what came my way. I got into a rhythm and hope I can do this week in and week out on the tour."

Rose is taking a week off before his next event, the Casio World Open in Japan, and he says he may squeeze in one more tournament on the European Tour before finishing the year.
