THE Mayor of Test Valley breathed fresh life into Andover when he opened the second phase of a major new entertainment venue - and picked up a cheque for his charity.
Cllr Neville Whiteley and the Mayoress, Mrs Janet Whiteley, were on hand to unveil the Club at Life - the club following on from the pub.
And after accepting a cheque for £500 for his Mayor's Appeal, from Life manager Howard Cooper, Mr Whiteley took to the dancefloor along with hundreds of other revellers.
"We are very pleased to open the Club at Life," he said: "It is a great new attraction for a wide variety of people that should boost the night-time economy locally.
"I am also extremely grateful for the donation to my charity. We wish Life every success."
The state-of-the-art Club at Life will open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9.30pm until 2am.
