WILDHERN resident Sue Howell's wanderlust has surfaced once again - inspiring her to hit the road for another rally driving adventure with good friend Molly Falcon.
This time, Sue's parrot green Peugeot 106 - better known as 'the grasshopper' - will tackle a London to Dakar course taking in the breadth of France, Spain and Morocco on the way.
While some might consider the pair gluttons for punishment, Sue said it's the camaraderie among drivers that keeps them going back for more.
"It's absolutely brilliant that people like Molly and I with our wrinkly faces, grey hair and glasses get a handful of men coming up to us and asking if we need any help.
"We then say we're fine, see to the dipstick and go off to get a gin and tonic.
"We've made some really good friends," she said. Sue and Molly, who is from Walton Hill, are looking for sponsors for the international rally which begins in January and at the same time are equally as keen to raise money for another home soil challenge.
They have chosen to give 50 per cent of the sponsorship money they raise to the Naomi House Children's Hospice in Winchester, using the remainder to cover the £6,500 entry fee.
