WITH NOTHING to fear and everything to gain, Tottonians head to unbeaten league leaders Jersey knowing that they have the upper hand having completed the double over the Channel Islanders last season.

The only side to leave the Island victorious last term, Totts return to Rues des Landes on the crest of a wave following a superb win over Chobham six days ago and with an unchanged side from that 28-15 success.

Many sides travel there weakened but Paul Goodall's men are determined to continue their outstanding opening to the season that sees them third in the table, four points behind their hosts and with two games against them in the space of a month.

Hence the reason they keep with the winning formula, meaning Dan Taylor continues in the back row and Martin Goodall remains at fullback once more with Richard Buck out with the facial injury, which will not now keep him out for the rest of the season as first feared.

"We go out there with a positive mental attitude, especially as we did the double over them last year and they did not expect us to do it either. But we are fully expecting them to come at us all guns blazing, that is for sure."

Winchester, with four defeats on the trot, need to get their season back on track but the short trip to Andover is not necessarily the best place to do it.

The All Blacks, two places below them in ninth but four points adrift, have returned to form despite losing to Old Wimbledonians last week while Barry Bridgman's county capital side need the victory to keep them in touch with the leaders.

It is a clash of former clubmates as Farnham host Alton; the pair being one club until 1975. But struggling Alton need the win to move away from the relegation zone otherwise they will be waiting a long time for a repeat.

In London Division Four South-West, Southampton receive improving Old Paulines to Test Park and give debuts to winger Rogan Roy and fullback Richard Battley as they attempt to mount a recovery from their current predicament.

Second from bottom with one win from six starts, Marcus Coffin's men are in desperate need of turning their season around and must win their home games, starting with tomorrow clash against the fourth-placed Surrey outfit.

Merv Guest comes back into the second row while Pete O'Donnell and Julian Robins switch positions at centre and wing. Matt Simmonds has shaken off his blood infection to sit on the bench. Phil Trant also plays at hooker.

With three sides going down at the end of the season, a win for either Petersfield or Romsey at Penns Place will drop one into that dreaded third spot, a position that the Sports Centre outfit currently hold.

But having recorded three wins on the trot, confidence is high among Bryan Musk's side.
