SAVINGS and salaries are set to double in the next 15 years, according to new research.
The average wage in 2020 is forecast to be almost £50,000 and average savings £22,000, Alliance & Leicester's report into future financial habits claims.
Apathy about our finances is set to become a thing of the past as growing wealth, a better understanding of financial affairs and Internet banking bring about a shift in our attitudes to money.
The population will be better educated and the report forecasts that the number of people with no educational qualifications is set to fall further, from 24 per cent now to just 17 per cent in 15 years' time.
