A SOUTHAMPTON man who complained of seeing visions has gone missing from his city home.

Richard Anthony Cook has not been seen since Monday, when he left his Newtown home with only the clothes he was wearing and a dark grey bag containing a small vegetable knife and a walkman.

Police are now appealing for information to help them track down the 37-year-old.

Richard had been complaining of seeing visions and said he recently visited St Catherine's Hill in Winchester, where he deliberately banged his head against trees, leaving him cut and bruised.

He is thought to have left his flat in Onslow Road, Newtown, at about 1am on Monday.

He did not take money or the means to withdraw cash or his mobile phone, and he does not have access to a vehicle.

Police are now urging anyone who has seen Richard, described as white, about 6ft and of medium build, to contact them.

Richard has a fair complexion with short, dark brown, wavy hair and brown eyes. He has a tattoo on his upper right arm of either the sun or an unfinished cartoon of comic book character Judge Dredd.

When last seen, he was wearing a pale coloured or green T-shirt, light blue jeans, a pale brown leather bomber jacket and black boots.
