VETERAN tennis players from across the south flocked to the Milford Tennis and Squash Club for their annual doubles tournament.
A record 84 pairs took part in the event, including several players in their 70s and 80s.
Eddy Green from Milford and Doug Ludinski from Lymington won a hard-fought over-45 men's doubles and Green teamed up with Jessica Weguelin to add the mixed event.
Other winners from the Milford club were Barbara Griffiths and Nan Spring in the over-60 ladies doubles.
Results - Over-45 ladies: C Harrison and M Pakenham-Walsh bt K Harris and T Marsh 6-3, 6-3. Over-45 men: E Green (Milford) and D Ludinski (Lymington) bt J Adams and D Toope 4-6, 6-4, 6-4. Over-45 mixed: E Green (Milford) and J Weguelin (Milford) bt J Adams and C Dickie 6-4, 6-4. Over-60 ladies: B Griffiths (Milford) and N Spring (Milford) bt M Bartrop and L Havers 4-6, 6-4, 6-2. Over-60 men: M Browning and B Walker bt B Mogg and M Riley 6-0, 6-2. Over-60 mixed: M Browning and C Kelham bt D Swayne and H Robson 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.
