Lacklustre Lions were dumped out of the Jewson Wessex League Cup 3-1 (aggregate 5-2) in a bad-tempered clash with Moneyfields on Tuesday.
In a performance that Andover boss Howard Goddard called "the worst I've seen since I took over as manager", the visitors from Portsmouth ran out winners, as goals from Lee Mould, Calvin Hore and James Lacey cancelled out Keith Nicholls' first-minute strike.
The goal from Nicholls, blasted home off a Moneyfields defender, seemed to have put Andover on course for another night of cup glory. But their opponents worked harder on the night.
Goddard said after the game: "We were second-best all over the field. It makes you aware that if you take your foot off the accelerator you'll get turned over."
