LEE PALMER of Wellow Res has had a magnificent week following the birth of his baby son Jake. He celebrated by scoring all five of his team's goals last weekend and dedicated to his son.
The only downside was the opposition scored six! Palmer opened the scoring but Sporting BTC Res were 6-2 up by half-time before Wellow pulled it back to 6-5 in the second half of this incredible match.
There were a couple of Southampton FA Cup ties, including one superb Senior Cup tie, underdogs Malvern from Senior 2 beating Senior 1 Burridge Sports with Stuart Hickman and Danny Ryles scoring to earn an away tie with another Senior 1 side, North Baddesley. This ensures at least one quarter-finalist will be a Drew Smith team.
Spar Tec Wessex earned a place in the B Cup semi-finals with a hard-fought comeback victory over Oakley, who led 2-0 through John Curtis and Dave Brookley. But two goals from Lee Topley and another from John Willis completed the turnaround.
The remaining semi-finalists will be known after this coming weekend.
