ANDOVER stalwart Alan Kennedy enjoyed his testimonial game against old club Forest Green Rovers at the Portway on Saturday.
Club manager Howard Goddard had paid tribute to AK before the game, describing the full-back as dedicated, motivated, super fit and with a great attitude.
And he was pleased with the fans' turnout for the afternoon, which saw 22 players given a run out in the club's first pre-season game.
It was a good test for the Lions against Nationwide Conference opposition and Goddard was pleased with the afternoon's performance, which finished 4-2 to the visitors.
"We were quite respectable against a conference side that finished ninth in the Conference last season - three divisions above us.
"The result didn't reflect the game, it was much closer than 4-2. But it was a nice day for Alan Kennedy and that's what it was all about."
Goddard added: "There were some encouraging signs because of the quality of the play and the quality of the team we were against. We've been in training for four weeks and got back really early which should set us in good stead for the weeks to come."
