JEAN Maton completed a straight hat-trick of Senior Women's titles at The Gazette Sports Awards.
Her fifth trophy at the awards provided the greatest source of satisfaction for the local powerlifter.
She said 2003 was her best year ever because it provided her with world, European and British gold medals in a matter of months.
The highlight of her year was returning from the world masters championships in Canada with no fewer than four gold medals at under-82.5kg.
The year also witnessed the 40th birthday of the Basingstoke and Deane local government worker.
"2003 was my best ever year," said the Basingstoke Powerlifting Club member from South Ham.
But there will be no let-up in her quest for sporting excellence.
This year will see her trying to retain the four major titles she holds, beginning with the British Masters championship, which she won for the first time last year.
The British bench-press title that she currently holds will be contested at the end of the year in an event re-schedule.
Runners-up to Maton in the Senior Women's category were javelin thrower Katy Watts and another international competitor in tumbling Julie Cheung.
