SOUTHAMPTON'S singing sensation Craig David has himself another new girlfriend - Playboy Playmate Summer Altice.

The city's homegrown R&B star has reportedly dumped his former love interest, 24-year-old South African supermodel Roxy Ingram, who he met soon after a one-off free gig at Hampshire's Rose Bowl.

His latest relationship with the 24-year-old American Summer began when he whisked the leggy model off to Paris for a romantic break.

The pretty 5ft 10in brunette, who is nicknamed Sunshine or Spitfire, used to play women's volleyball for a team called the Aztecs, in San Diego.

In August 2000 Summer, who was named after Miss USA 1979 Summer Bartholomew, was crowned Playmate of the month. Her previous love interests include Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst and actor Vin Diesel, both in 2000.

But now she's said to be struck with Craig - especially his English accent.

In a previous interview with the Daily Echo, Craig told us how his ideal woman would have to be a bit like Charlie from the film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. "I want someone who is just about living life and enjoying life to the full.

"It needs to be something much deeper than just finding someone physically attractive," he said.

The chart-topper, a former pupil of Bellemoor School, Shirley, grew up on Southampton's Holyrood council estate.

Since finding stardom he's made frequent visits to the city, where he has bought mother Tina a plush new house.
