MIKAEL NILSSON has become the first Saints player to pick up a medal this season.
The Swedish international has won a championship runners-up medal in his home country after Halmstad finished second in their league.
Nilsson played 13 games - exactly half the season - for Halmstad before joining Saints ahead of the 2004/05 campaign.
The versatile midfielder, who won a championship medal with Halmstad in 2000, would have gained a second had his former club beaten Gothenburg in their final match instead of drawing 1-1.
Nilsson, meanwhile, has been included in Sweden's 20-man squad for tomorow's international with Scotland.
Anders Svensson has been left out, along with star trio Fredrik Ljungberg, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrik Larsson.
Nilsson would have played against St Mary's colleague Neil McCann had the latter not suffered a broken toe against West Brom earlier this month.
Caretaker Scots boss Tommy Burns confirmed McCann was in his thoughts after returning to form with Saints under Steve Wigley and said: "He would definitely have played."
Claus Lundekvam is a doubt for Norway's friendly against Australia at Fulham tonight after taking a kick on an ankle against Pompey.
