SCHOOLCHILDREN in Chandler's Ford have raised more than £2,000 for Jeans for Genes Day.
A special event day had every pupil at Thornden School leaving their uniform at home for the day to wear denim.
Each donating £1 to the charity, some pupils even added their own twist to fundraising by mixing denim with their pyjamas.
Cake sales, a raffle, a dance competition and a staff netball match all helped raise money for research into childhood genetic disorders and birth defects.
Organiser of the day, science teacher Mrs Brigitte Drabble said: "The pupils 'denimstrated' their fashion sense, creativity and individuality to bring a funny side to the national appeal."
