LEISURE consultation: The borough council is in consultation over the issue of local leisure facilities in Hatch Warren and Beggarwood.
Money was allocated from developers building in the area to provide a sports barn at the woodland park.
These plans were shelved when the borough council decided to use the money to put towards the swimming pools at the Sports Centre.
Following pressure from local residents and councillors, the council is now to conduct a consultation to take in the views of local people.
If you would like to have your say on how the money should be used, or want a sports facility in Hatch Warren and Beggarwood, then now is your chance to have your say.
Borough officers will be at the community centre on November 24, from 6.30pm until 9pm, or you can e-mail them from www.basingstoke.gov.uk or get hold of a questionnaire by contacting Stewart Meadowcroft on 845736.
PHONE mast news: Simon Preedy has contacted operator Orange concerning its application for a mast in Woodbury Road.
The mast is planned as a 2G 12-metre mast but with the future possibility of becoming a 3G mast.
Following recent publicity concerning safety issues, Simon has queried how far away from St Mark's school playing fields the site is likely to be.
FIREWORKS: Despite soggy weather, a big crowd turned up to the annual Fireworks Extravaganza.
Money raised will go towards the installation of a much-needed CCTV system at the centre to help combat vandalism and anti-social behaviour around the site.
POLICE surgery: On Sunday, November 21, at the community centre, from 11am until 1pm.
