PARISH council: Monday's meeting decided that "Gateway Features" at the main entrances to Chineham would assist in helping to slow traffic entering the main residential areas of Chineham.
Designs are now to be prepared. If you are interested in the kind of thing being considered, the installation at the start of Reading Road in Sherfield-on-Loddon as you leave the A33, going north, is the sort of concept in mind.
CHRIST Church, Reading Road event: Preparation for the annual Shoebox Roadshow is now well under way.
This year, the church is hoping to send more than 1,000 boxes filled with small gifts to needy children in Eastern Europe and Iraq.
You can take any boxes to the parish office or save them for the roadshow on Sunday, November 28.
More details are available from the parish office, or call 474280.
In the meantime, if you have any empty shoeboxes and small gifts, the church would be most grateful to receive them.
Cash donations are also welcome.
A box-filling session is planned for next Tuesday, from 7pm onwards.
MOBILE library: At the village hall car park, on Thursday, 4pm to 4.20pm.
