BRIGHTON Hill Pre-school: Children were happily playing with toys when I called on November 4.
I was shocked to hear about vandalism to the school. The police had been called.
The new pre-school has another front door to replace the one where the panel was shattered.
Intruders also scrambled through a side window and took a stereo system and a jar of sweets.
Security lights and an improved alarm system have now been installed, and a CCTV camera will be introduced to protect the building.
When I called in, the topic for the week was fireworks.
Children had created colourful paintings of fireworks brightening the sky.
Julie Voysey, the supervisor, talked with the children about fireworks and warned them to be careful and avoid being hurt.
Children responded, saying fireworks were loud and the bangs made them jump.
The rooms are pleasant with brilliant posters, a play house, a reading area and fun puppets.
The school would like to stay in the new building. The lease is for one year, probably two. The land is to be redeveloped, and I can see no reason why the school should be disturbed.
