PUPILS at a Hampshire school will be able to cook up a storm thanks to a donation that paid for a brand new cooker.
Youngsters at Hollybrook Infant School in Bassett are benefiting from the £250 donation from the Co-op that paid for the brand new appliance.
The cooker will be used by the children and staff during their cookery classes that are held six times a week - with help from parents, grandparents and friends - and teach the children how to cook in a safe environment.
Chairwoman of the school association Sue Wilson said: "The children are delighted with their new cooker and we're sure that their delicious cakes will taste even better now. The Co-op has been really generous and we all appreciate the support it has given the school."
The donated money was part of the Co-operative Group's Dividend customer loyalty card scheme that allows shoppers to donate the extra pence in their twice-yearly payouts to worthy causes.
"Many community groups share our co-operative values and could benefit from an award, and we would certainly welcome their applications," said Co-op regional secretary Andrew North.
Application forms are available in Co-operative Group stores throughout the region.
