OLYMPIC junior boxing champion Tony Hill has suffered his second defeat in only his third senior fight.

But once again he was desperately unlucky not to get the judge's verdict in the top-of-the-bill clash at the De Vere show against Wolvercott's Chris Woods.

Lordshill's Hill clearly won the first-round but was frustrated throughout the rest of the fight against his more experienced opponent.

At 28, Woods has a decade in age on Hill and was able to frustrate the Golden Ring prospect.

Head coach Stuart Gill admitted he was again disappointed by the way the fight was scored, saying most ringsiders believed Hill had won, as was the case when he lost his debut fight.

The 18-year-old returns to age-group action tonight, though, when he competes in the quarter-finals of the NABC national championships alongside team-mate Jason Rogers.

In other action on the De Vere show, Chris Spacagana made an explosive start to his amateur boxing career when he stopped Bournemouth's Ahmed Salem inside the first minute.

There was also a welcome return to action for Mark Atkins, who boxed with deadly poise to stop Horsham's Gyles Thornton in one round.
