JODI Jerram of Solent Stars and Taunton's College has won Hampshire County Council's Michael Austin Harlick Award for the outstanding schools sports person 2004.
Jerram, pictured above, has been playing basketball from the age of seven, since when she has hardly missed a training session.
Over the last five years she has played to a very high standard, captaining the Stars team to victory in the Under-16 National Final at Cosford.
Jerram is currently playing National League basketball for Solent and is also captain of the Taunton's College team who played in last year's British Colleges final.
She has also represented South West England at under-14 and under-15 level and the South's under-16 and under-18 teams.
Solent's Cliff Fullbrook, who has followed her career closely, said: "Jodi has amazing team spirit and is very popular with her teammates.
"Although her standards are incredibly high, she is patient and encouraging at all times with her fellow players.
"The special thing about Jodi is her willingness to give back to the community what she has learned over the years.
"Currently a Level 2 coach referee and table official, she is actively involved in primary school after-school clubs, teaching the basics and fundamentals to a new generation of players."
