Kings SEAT Southampton, part of the Hampshire-based Snows Motor Group, are pleased to announce the impending arrival of the new Toledo.
With the Toledo, Seat has created a family car which offers more versatility, functionality and unprecedented space for a car in this class.
The third generation Toledo retains the essence of its predecessors, combining the notchback styling of the current model (launched in 1998) with the rear hatch of the first Toledo (1991), but without giving up one of the most appealing features for Toledo users - a large volume boot.
The new Toledo had its public debut in September at the International Automobile Salon in Paris, and will be on sale in some European markets before the end of the year and in the UK early 2005.
The Toledo is the second model in the new generation of SEAT cars that began with the Altea.
Its size and versatility make it first and foremost a family car. An attractive, large volume car that perfectly utilises its length to create a spacious interior and a capacious boot.
It is conceived, designed and built by Seat and portrays the image and features that identify all new models from the Spanish brand.
The new Toledo stands out with its innovative and attractive design. Particularly distinctive are the shape of the rear hatch, the large front grille and the expressive headlights.
The Seat dynamic line, a design feature running from the front wheel arch, along the doors and descending to the rear wheel, is clearly visible along the sides.
At 4.5 metres long and 1.77 metres wide, the new Toledo offers more interior space than some longer vehicles thanks to its mono-volume design and its height of 1.57 metres. It also boasts a two-level luggage compartment with a 500-litre capacity.
One of the outstanding innovations of the new Seat Toledo is Bluetooth technology, which allows a standardised wireless communication between two mobile devices.
The main advantage is that it does not require a physical connection between the mobile telephone and the vehicle to provide a completely hands-free system. The Bluetooth system is operated by multi-function buttons in the steering wheel.
Calls can be accepted, disconnected and one of the most important features, voice recognition, accessed through these buttons.
When using this feature, the driver can verbally place a call to a number or a name or save names and numbers in the phone book - all while keeping his or her hands on the wheel.
The audio system is perfectly integrated into the central console of the dashboard and offers a slot at the top for standard or MP3 format CDs.
The Toledo will be available with four different engines, two petrol - 150bhp 2.0 FSI and 102bhp 1.6 - and two Diesel - 140bhp 2.0 TDI and 105bhp 1.9.
The two most powerful engines - the 2.0 litre FSI and TDI - are combined with a six-speed manual gearbox.
In addition, the FSI will be available with automatic and sequential Tiptronic six-speed gearbox. The 2.0 TDI will have the option of the new DSG six-speed gearbox.
It also offers a high degree of safety. ABS, TCS and ESP systems are all included, along with emergency brake assistance (EBA).
Electro-mechanical power steering and the SEAT developed Agile Chassis combined with a multi-link rear axle give the Toledo excellent stability and very dynamic driving characteristics.
As for passive safety, the Toledo leaves the factory equipped with six airbags as standard - driver and passenger airbags, and side and head airbags.
It also includes three-point seatbelts for all five seats, with pyrotechnic pre-tensioners at the front and the Isofix system for securing child seats integrated in the back seats.
