HUMBERTS Commercial in Southampton has found the perfect home for a company that specialises in loo portability.
Georgian Hire provides comfort for the construction industry - and at concerts and other special outdoor events - in the form of port a loos for virtually every occasion.
The family-owned business has been operating for about 15 years and established its presence in the south over six years ago.
The company's offices were already contained in portable cabins at its last base of operations and it needed to find a suitable home both for those, and to provide storage for its large supply of port a loos.
Acting on behalf of Southern Water, Jessica Mott of Humberts has been able to end the search for suitable premises by letting the one-acre yard at the rear of the company's training school at Leornian House at Portswood, Southampton, to Georgian Hire on a new ten-year lease. Georgian's manager Peter Ratcliffe said: "Our move has provided the ideal solution to our business needs.
"While we are an unusual business, we are extremely environmentally and neighbour conscious and needed a location which meant we could live in harmony with both. The yard at Leornian House has proved to be ideal.
"Both Jessica Mott and Humberts have been highly professional, very thorough, and the deal has all gone through smoothly.
"While all our chemical waste is disposed of in a controlled manner away from this site, there is a certain irony to the fact that our offices now overlook a sewerage works!"
