LEGION: The jumble sale held last week was a roaring success.
Next Thursday, the buglers from the band will be in Castle Square, in the town centre, to sound the Last Post at the county ceremony for the Remembrance Day Service.
Then on November 14, they and the Old Basing legion stalwarts will form up at 9am in the legion car park at Crown Lane.
Dave Godfrey will lead the band and the parade, striding out at 9.30am.
The route, as usual, will be down Crown Lane, turn right along The Street to the church. At 11am, the whole of the congregation will form up around our own cenotaph when wreaths will be laid as the Last Post is sounded at 11am.
The parade will then form up at the rear of the church where the band will be inspected by the officer taking the salute.
Then, it is off back to the legion via Milkingpen Lane, Fiveways, and The Street.
Please give them your support and either march with them or line the route.
TONIES cronies: Will be rambling on next Tuesday, starting at 10.30am at the Woodland Trust car park at Home Farm, Bentworth.
LEGION subscription: Membership subscriptions are now due.
TENNIS: If you want to enjoy the tennis facilities of the village, and support the club, you should think about attending the club's AGM, which is being held next Tuesday, in the legion hall, at 7.30pm.
