THERE were fireworks and fundraising galore in Whiteley with a spectacular display which helped boost the coffers of a primary school special needs department.
Visitors to the shopping outlet enjoyed merry-go-rounds, hot chestnut stalls and a Punch and Judy show in aid of Whiteley Primary School.
The evening came to an end with a firework display set to James Bond theme tunes.
Yvonne Compton-Barden, chairman of the Friends of Whiteley Primary School, was there raising cash by selling glow-in-the-dark necklaces to members of the crowd.
She said: "Hopefully we'll get about £5,000 profit.
"All our money for this year will be donated to our special needs unit for computers and various different activities.
"The people who have got stalls will give us a percentage of their takings."
Andrew Rollings, retail director of Whiteley Village, organised the fireworks.
Whiteley Primary School pupil Lydia Cranstone was delighted by the show.
Lydia, who's ten, said: "The fireworks were amazing. My favourites were the rockets with the afterburn on them."
