ONE of Ireland's top bands, the Saw Doctors, are coming to Southampton next month.

The band, who are currently in the middle of a coast-to-coast tour of America, are stopping off at The Brook in Portswood on December 15.

The Brook is one of the more intimate venues on the band's UK tour, which takes in Shepherd's Bush Empire and the Manchester Evening News Arena, and offers a great chance to see the band up close.

Joining the band for their UK tour will be new members Fran Breen, formerly of Lucinda Williams, and Richie Buckley who spent most of the 90s touring with Van Morrison.

The current line-up features Waterboys founder member Anthony Thistlethwaite on bass guitar and the song writing team of singer Davy Carton and guitarist Leo Moran.

The band's tour coincides with the release of their new CD and DVD, both entitled Live In Galway.

The CD features their Irish number ones I Useta Lover, N17 and Hay Wrap, which they are also sure to perform when they come to The Brook as well as some of their UK hits, which include World Of Good and To Win Just This Once.

Tickets for the Saw Doctors at The Brook are priced £20. For more information call 023 8055 5366.

To help you get in the mood for the Saw Doctors we have two great prizes to give away.

Each winner will receive a Live In Galway DVD, which features a concert in the band's home town as well as a documentary on the band, and a Live In Galway CD, featuring the band's greatest hits.
