TEENAGERS on the Waterside will soon be able to hit the gym after school.
A special fitness scheme for 14-18-year-olds called "Teen Training" has been launched by Applemore Health and Leisure Centre in Dibden.
Centre bosses dreamed up the idea after young people across the New Forest called for more after school activities at Shout About, a youth democracy event organised by Hampshire County Council
Sessions will be held twice a week in Applemore's "Profiles" health and fitness suite at a cost of £2.50. They will be able to use all the gym equipment including rowing machines, treadmills, cross trainers and bikes on Tuesdays from 4-5pm and Thursdays from 3.30-5pm.
Young people on the scheme will also be able to pay a reduced induction fee of £12 instead of £27, which includes four introductory training sessions with a personal instructor, their own personal training programme and a free Smart Key to activate the equipment and log information.
