A LAST-GASP 92nd-minute strike by Gary Biddle earned VT FC a precious point in an entertaining 2-2 draw with Fareham Town at Portsmouth Road.

"It was a good game to watch and I thought that a draw was a fair result. Full credit to our lads for keeping going," said VT manager Dave Diaper.

The home side had taken the lead after 44 minutes when Gary Male netted from the penalty spot after Mike Spinney had been brought down.

Fareham equalised on 51 minutes through Floyd Hamodu and then took an 85th-minute lead with a scorching 25-yard drive from Warren Hunt.

But two minutes into stoppage time, Biddle popped up to head in Kevin Gibbens' corner, and the Boatmen almost stole it with the last kick of the game which saw Andy Pattison's effort hit the Fareham bar.

Bournemouth Poppies also needed an injury-time equaliser as they drew 1-1 at home to AFC Totton.

The visitors had taken the lead in stunning style after 55 minutes with a cracking volley by Mark Osman from the edge of the penalty area, only for left-back Danny Neville to head home Lamin Dibba's cross two minutes into injury time.

Totton assistant manager Sean New said: "We're disappointed to drop two points but not with the performance from the team today."

Wimborne Town followed up their victory over Winchester City in midweek with a 2-1 success against Bemerton Heath Harlequins at The Cuthbury.

Stuart Cannie rifled the Magpies into a first-minute lead but then they had to wait until the 70th minute before Paul Roast doubled their advantage. Paul Palmer bagged a late consolation.

Harlequins' local rivals, Downton, are still looking for their first points after suffering their 14th straight defeat of the campaign, two-goal Ian Davies and Paul Worsfold sentencing them to a 3-0 loss at Thatcham Town.

Hamworthy United manager Alex Pike was a happy man after watching his team triumph 2-0 at home to Brockenhurst.

"I'm very pleased with the win. The younger players are starting to settle in now and I'm very happy with what I've got here at Hamworthy," smiled Pike.

Ryan Lucas provided the cross for Keith Middleton to fire the Dorset club into a 48th-minute lead and it was Middleton who bagged a second right on the final whistle with a fine individual effort.

Portland 's long trek to AFC Newbury proved fruitless as they were trounced 7-0, with Lance Spencer (2), Dave Asker, Lee Chudy, Anthony Alleyne, Ashley Vine and Chris Geary sharing the goals.
