PHIL TAYLOR FINAL FOR YOUTH:
A new annual competition is offering young darts players the opportunity of a lifetime.
Emsworth landlord Daniel Hansford is offering £200 and a trophy to the winning Under-18 player, but there is an even greater prize on offer.
The competition, starting on November 24, invites players and their parents to take part in heats to reach the quarter-finals, where they could play Phil 'The Power' Taylor.
Heats take place on November 24-25 with the final matches on December 10.
Taylor will sign the dartboard used on the night and will present it to the winner, along with his set of darts.
Hansford said: "I currently sponsor a young Portsmouth player called Ricky Williams, who I think will go a long way.
"But it set me thinking about how many young people are out there that don't know where to get a game. I really just want to support the youngsters in a great sport."
Entry for the event is £3. Contact Daniel in the first instance on 01243 371184 or 07771 605578.
