AN Andover resident is so incensed by his new car being vandalised he has offered a £100 reward to anyone who provides information leading to the conviction of those responsible.
The car, a top-of-the- range, 2.0 litre Ford Focus Ghia, was bought by Kevin Bennett of Laun-celot Close, King Arthurs Way, Andover, from Andover Ford on Friday at a cost of £12,500. The car had been vandalised by Sunday afternoon.
Kevin describes the offender as a 'brain dead idiot'. "I have been told that the damage to the vehicle will cost £1,000 to put right," said Kevin, who is aged 35 and works as a planning engineer for Stannah Stairlifts.
He believes that a heavy concrete block was used to cause the damage to the roof, door and windows of the vehicle.
"I am not a rich man, I have not gone out of my way to interfere with anybody else's life, so why me?" he said.
"I now find myself in a position where I will have to pay to get the car repaired and no doubt my insurance premiums will go through the roof."
