Test Valley's Dog and Neighbour-hood Wardens have received a spate of complaints about dog mess and stray dogs - with the arrival of darker evenings.
Residents have been complaining about the state of the green between Andover's Pilgrims Way and River Way.
Rita Cove, neighbourhood warden said: "There are dogs bins, it's not like they haven't got anywhere to put it.
"The lighting isn't great but it doesn't stop owners taking out a carrier bag."
Dog Warden Rod Mason meanwhile has recently picked up a number of stray dogs at The Swallow Pub in Pilgrims Way, many of which had escaped from their homes.
The wardens are urging residents to report anything they see. The more information they have the better chance they have of solving these problems.
