Eastleigh & District Junior AC travelled to Goodwood, Chichester, for their latest cross-country venture. Competing in the Hampshire League for the first time this season, there were some encouraging performances.
Katie Shipp finished 18th in the under-13 girls' age-group followed by Bethany Woodhouse 30th, Emily Varcoe 52nd, Melody Young 54th, and Emily Ball 56th. As a team they finished seventh.
For the under-15 boys, Adam Hicks maintained his early-season form in 24th followed by Josh Allen, 33rd.
Under-15 girl Claire Varcoe finished a respectable 46th, while in the under-13 boys' race Joe Mills was 54th, debutant Fred Young 56th, Arron Brown 60th, Stuart Phillips 66th, Calum Bressington 67th and debutant Steven Downer 69th.

Under-13 athlete Alice Cole finished fourth for New Forest Juniors in the second Royal Navy-sponsored Hampshire Cross-Country League fixture at Goodwood.
Her run was backed by 37th place from first-year under-13 runner Gemma Knell and sisters Chrissy and Samantha Parsons, who were 64th and 65th respectively.
Hayley Pointer registered her first win in the under-17 women's race while Laura Pankhurst enjoyed another good run in eighth.
For the under-13 boys Graham Nelson was 46th and Ryan Taylor 55th, while Becky Knell, the only under-15 girl available, made up for a slow start by fighting her way through the field for 16th.
Many of NFJ's junior athletes will be competing for their schools in the New Forest Primary Schools' Sportshall competition at Applemore Recreation Centre on Saturday week (November 13).
