SOLENT Stars' new French coach Sylvain Donneaud was thrilled with his young team's performance in the National League.
The newly-formed under-16s, comprising seven under-15 players, surprised favourites Trailblazers with a 76-68 point win.
It was the cool head of Solent's point guard Rowan Polonski that gave the Stars their edge.
Assistant coach Fergus Cowhig said: "Rowan kept calm and the team responded in the same way. I don't think Rowan made a mistake throughout the game, he made safe passes and his vision was superb."
Ben Grey and Albert Pomeroy contributed points, while young James Nunn stepped up to give Blazers' taller frontline competition on the boards.
Solent's junior men continued their unbeaten home run by seeing off an athletic Hackney team 83-57.
Leading 43-28 at half-time, Stars were in control, but Hackney embarked on a 14-4 scoring spree.
It needed outstanding play from captain Jon Titcombe to get Solent back in control, aided by some awesome dunks from Joel Freeland.
Solent juniors' scorers: Freeland 26, Titcombe 20, Teesdale 11, Cooper 11, Bawden 5, Openshaw 4, Glasspool 4, Sisley 2.
