AN environmental campaign has been launched in Eastleigh to replenish trees in the region.
Cartridge World, which has a store in Market Street, is aiming to redress the balance by staging a major environmental campaign.
It comes with the hard-hitting slogan 'Plant a Tree Not a Cartridge' and hopes to raise awareness of the statistic that each resident in Eastleigh uses the equivalent of 12 trees a year.
To sow the seeds for this 'save it' campaign, the company has launched a loyalty card scheme.
Eastleigh customers will receive a stamp every time they refill existing printer cartridges and toners at Cartridge World. For every eight stamps, a new tree will be planted.
Cartridge World spokesman David Parkinson said: "Globally, trees are being consumed at an unsustainable rate, so with the help of our customers and through our planting programme we hope to help to improve the quality of life for everyone."
