HOT on the heels of the recent West End revival, BATS brings one of the best Western musicals to town next month!
Book your seat on the Deadwood Stage for a rip-roaring show complete with gunshots, quick-fire humour and lavish dance numbers.
Based on the MGM movie starring Doris Day as the boisterous tomboy heroine, Calamity Jane is a high-spirited musical from Hollywood's Golden Age.
Calamity Jane is a gun-slinging gal with a man's swagger and a reputation for stretching the truth. Her hilarious banter with Wild Bill Hickock hides her true feelings... but can her new friend Katie Brown give Calamity the Woman's Touch she needs to win her Secret Love?
BATS' production, directed and choreographed by Ray Jeffery, features Tracey Gonzato (pictured) as Calamity Jane, Rob Wilson as Wild Bill Hickock, Theresa Lunn as Katie Brown, Stephen Westwood as Lt Danny Gilmartin, Len Annakin as Henry Miller and Bryn Hughes as Francis Fryer. Musical director is Neil Streeter.
This musical extravaganza features smash hit songs by the stage-load. From the rollicking Deadwood Stage and exuberant Windy City, to the softer romantic ballads Higher Than a Hawk and Academy Award-winning Secret Love - the song which became synonymous with Doris Day.
Calamity Jane runs from Wednesday, November 10, to Saturday, November 20, at 7.30pm, and with two Saturday matines at 3pm.
Tickets, ranging in price from £13 to £15, are available from the Haymarket Theatre box office on 0870 770 1088.
