PATIENTS are being invited to have their say on the future of NHS services in Fareham and Gosport at a public meeting tomorrow.
The event, at Cams Hill School in Shearwater Avenue, Fareham, will explore the business case for future health services in the two towns.
Needs assessment, traffic impact, estates issues and financial aspects will be among the issues covered.
Health bosses at Fareham and Gosport Primary Care Trust (PCT) have extended the public consultation into the issue.
They have whittled the options down to two.
Option one would provide new buildings for services when and where needed on a like-for-like basis.
A new Fareham Community Hospital would replace Fareham Health Centre and Hill Park Clinic.
An accident treatment centre, diagnostics, minor surgery, occupational therapy and physiotherapy would take place at the Royal Hospital Haslar's Crosslink building.
The PCT would develop intermediate care services and special practitioners, replace continuing care beds in more appropriate settings and also retain Gosport War Memorial Hospital.
Under option two community hospitals would be built as the hub of health services in both towns including a new Fareham Community Hospital.
Gosport War Memorial Hospital would be extended to include an accident treatment centre, outpatients, minor surgery and more diagnostics.
New health centres would also be built in both towns, with a therapy unit and substance misuse services replacing existing units.
The meeting starts at 7pm.
