JIMMY TAYLOR scored twice and laid on a third for David Town as Havant & Waterlooville ended Eastleigh's Hampshire Senior Cup dreams with an emphatic 3-1 victory at West Leigh Park last night.
Martin Beck got Eastleigh's consolation reply from an injury-time penalty.
"We're all disappointed as we wanted to get to the final and play at St Mary's," said Eastleigh skipper Danny Smith.
"We had a game plan, but paid the penalty for giving away silly goals and were chasing shodows for long periods of the play."
Eastleigh struggled to impose themselves directly Taylor climaxed a sweeping seventh minute move between Gavin Holligan and David Town which split the visitors defence.
Replacing the injured Dean Holdsworth, Taylor looked sharp and hungry and went close with two headers before Smith fired Eastleigh's shot in anger after almost 35 minutes!
Eastleigh were beginning to get a foothold towards the end of the opening period - but Taylor's second goal, just 90 seconds after the interval, effectively ended the game as a contest.
The visitors failed to deal with an aerial melee in their own goalmouth, with Taylor eventually scoring at the far post from Town's cross.
Ten minutes from time Taylor turned provider - heading Glen Knight's centreback across goal for Town to fire in Havant's third.
Eastleigh did get a consolation goal in injury time.
Havant goalkeeper Gareth Howells was penalised for pushing and Beck got a consolation goal from the spot.
Havant's win will be a tonic for manager Dave Leworthy, who was due to undergo a gall-bladder operation in a Portsmouth hospital today.
