HIGH-flying Tara Dempsey gained first place in the southern region for her advanced case study paper in exams set by the Association of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
She also managed to work off any revision-induced tension by striking out with karate.
Tara, who is with chartered accountants MorleyandScott at Whiteley, near Fareham, has spent the past two and a half years practising martial arts.
She is working through her karate gradings, saying: " I enjoy the discipline and improved fitness offered by this sport."
Back at the office Tara's role involves preparing sets of accounts for clients and undertaking audits for clients.
Spokesman Adrian Price said: "Tara worked extremely hard in the run-up to the exams and thoroughly deserves this success.
"She will continue to be a great asset to the firm and her achievements add further depth to the strength and quality of the people now working for MorleyandScott."
