Sir.-I feel sorry for Jim Dixon, head coach at Basingstoke Rugby Football Club.
When he took over in the summer, I'm sure he had high hopes of taking them straight back into the National Leagues.
If they were going to do that, they probably needed to win all but one or two of their matches.
However, after the first couple of games, it looked like they had missed their chance.
I'm sure Jim (pictured) still felt they were good enough to be up at the top of the table - but now it's looking pretty grim.
I just hope he can get a couple of wins under his belt and start to feel that something is going right.
He and Basingstoke need the boost.
-Jeff Lucas, Esher, Surrey.
