YOUNGSTERS got into the spooky spirit of Hallowe'en when they went to hear some spine-tingling tales at a special Lockswood Library event.
From hair-raising yarns about monsters and ghosts to spooky tales of creepy-crawlies and spiders, the children, aged seven and above, thoroughly enjoyed the half-term Slightly Scary Stories event that took place at the Locks Heath District Centre.
Organiser Marie Fleet said: "The children really enjoyed themselves and got into the mood for Hallowe'en. They took away some bats and skeleton kits to make at home and they were all geared up for the Titchfield Carnival by the end of it as well."
