The annual Trojans mini and junior rugby tournament saw the hosts win three of the six age groups. Southampton, Eastleigh, Andover, New Milton & District, Winchester, Havant and Portsmouth also competed.

Trojans won at under-seven, under-ten and under-11 level while Portsmouth and Winchester shared the under-eight gong, Portsmouth scooped the under-nine trophy and Havant took the under-12 title.

The under-sevens' trophy was a three-way tussle between Andover, Eastleigh and the home outfit. They were all tight contests but Trojans won all their matches.

Nothing could separate Portsmouth and Winchester in the under-eights after extra time so it was decided to share the championship while the under-nines' title was claimed by the Rugby Camp club, who defeated New Milton & District.

There was no denying Trojans in the under-tens, who scored 19 tries without conceding any in lifting their title.

It was the same for the under-11s. Following their success from the New Milton tournament, they blitzed through their pool to the final without conceding any points.

A Lewis Crowley try saw them past Havant before he crossed again alongside Troy Cusack and Jack French as they defeated Eastleigh 19-0 and Romsey Wasps 21-0 with Ollie Manger, Alex Williams and JJ Cremin scoring.

New Milton were beaten in the semis thanks to Williams's and Manger's tries but the final against Portsmouth was a tight-fought encounter.

It was left to Manger to squeeze over for the winning score late on.

Havant beat Winchester to win the under-12s' title, although Trojans did manage another gong, courtesy of a plate win over Portsmouth.

It was also a very successful day for the Romsey Wasps' juniors, who picked up four plate trophies at under-seven, under-eight, under-ten and under-11 level.
