DIRECT from his London Palladium appearance as Caractacus Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Gary Wilmot will be at The Anvil next month.
Appearing on Tuesday, November 23, he will be backed by a 10-piece orchestra and joined by the London Community Gospel Choir.
Gary will perform songs from shows including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Me and My Girl, Copacabana, and Oliver! as well as classic hits in this lavish new production.
The orchestra will be led by Mike Alexander, former musical director for showbusiness legend Shirley Bassey.
With 30 years' experience in the music business, he has covered many facets of the entertainment sector, from three-piece jazz combos to symphony orchestras, and worked with some of the top stars all over the world.
One of the UK's most popular artistes, Gary is looking forward to getting the tour on the road, insisting there is nothing like the feeling of walking onto the stage at the beginning of a show and getting the whole theatrical roller-coaster under way.
"I love the way all the people on the tour combine to make a show work, and when everything comes together, it is just incredible," said Gary.
He will also be working with the London Community Gospel Choir.
They are flexible and perform dynamically, creating rich harmonies, and are known for their up-tempo gospel flair, swing-beat, R 'n' B, traditional and soulful arrangements, with invigorating choreography.
They have sung on the soundtrack for Walt Disney's The Lion King, performed for Nelson Mandela during a visit to London, opened on the main stage at Glastonbury and put gospel on the BBC Proms for the first time.
Tickets for Gary Wilmot, priced at £18.50, are available from The Anvil box office on 01256 844244, the website www.theanvil.org.uk or the ticket fax on 01256 366900.
