THE HAMPSHIRE League management committee has confirmed most of the promotions and relegations determined by final league positions at the end of the 2004 season... but there are some changes!

All the teams who qualify for promotion by virtue of finishing in the 'official' promotion positions the promotions from Regional Level 3 upwards have been accepted at the corresponding higher level. But the promotions of Alton IV from RD3NE, Liphook & Ripsley IV from RD4NE and Fareham & Crofton IV from RD4SE have all been rejected. None of these teams can be promoted because their clubs already have a team in the division to which they would be promoted.

In their place St Cross Symondians IV, Crown Taverners II and Portsmouth & Southsea III go up.

With extra promotion places made available by the withdrawal of Winchester KS, Knightwood Park and Whiteley during last season some extra promotion places had already been pencilled in.

In addition, Cranborne have withdrawn their teams from CD3 and RD4; Lyndhurst have withdrawn from RD1S; Ampfield have been granted an additional relegation, so moving from CD3 to RD1S, and Burley have been granted relegation from RD1S to RD2SW. That's in addition to the teams already earmarked to be relegated under normal rules from each division.

To plug the gaps, Hursley Park II are promoted to CD1, Portchester to CD2, Shrewton and Ryde to CD3, Fair Oak II, Owslebury and Ramsdell to CD4, Ringwood, Steeple Langford, Wickham and Rotherwick ITW to RD1, Ellingham II, Idlers and Sarisbury Athletic III to RD2 and Michelmersh & Timsbury II, Andover V and Sway to RD3.

Due to the imbalance of promotions and relegations within each regional league, a number of teams will be moved sideways. Michelmersh & Timsbury move to RD1S; Colden Common, Fair Oak III and Overton to RD2NE; Hursley Park III to RD2NW and Cadnam II to RD3NW.

Until the official closing date for entries (November 1st) the final format for the league can't be published, but the structure for next season will be issued as soon as possible after that.
