JIM Dixon said he was shocked and angry that his 'Stoke side "completely lost their heads" in their shoddy defeat to Old Colfeians.
The flanker and senior coach labelled last Saturday's 10-29 home loss as the "worst display" he has been involved with during his 14 months at the Down Grange club.
The main reason for his anger was the laissez-faire attitude - shown by players he expected better of - towards their opponents and former national three south rivals.
He said: "It was atrocious. After doing well at Richmond, they expected it to be easy. It's a bad sign and it's about time the guys stood up for themselves.
"I'm disappointed in some of them, especially after the pre-season we had and our performance at Richmond. I didn't expect to see the boys panic or give up before the game was over, but they did. That's what made me so angry.
"We completely lost our heads and kept making basic, unnecessary errors and gave away silly penalties."
He continued: "A few of the boys won't be playing tomorrow. They've had a chance and now it's time to make a change. That's what sport is about and they will have to deal with it and play their way back into the team on merit."
Dixon admitted that watching a re-run of the game on video this week wasn't pleasant.
"We dominated the first 25 minutes but didn't complete our play. We blew three try-scoring opportunities through dropped balls and other basic errors," he said.
"It seemed to really rattle the guys and they got angry and frustrated. Everything fell apart then, we ended up with two guys sin-binned and couldn't keep our focus. That's what cost us the game."
Dixon said he gave the players a stern talking to on Tuesday evening at training, to make a contrast between the previous week's sessions, where they focused on their strengths in the 17-8 defeat at Richmond.
"Maybe that did have an effect," mused Dixon. "But I expect all of my players to know there are no teams in this league that are easy opposition, and to show respect.
"Old Colfs was a game we should have won but a bad attitude let us down big time. I won't accept it."
'Stoke had targeted the game - their first at home in London division one this season - to earn their opening two points of the campaign.
Instead, Dixon is hoping those points will come against visiting Bishop's Stortford tomorrow.
"The boys know they have to learn from their mistakes and produce," he stated.
Dixon is undecided whether to play Jamie Davenport or Ian White at tighthead prop. Jason Luff has returned to Exeter University, so Dan Rees starts at centre.
Captain and second row Kelvin Chapman's affliction with his knees has flared up again, so he is facing another spell out. Ross Stirling fills the gap.
Kick off at Down Grange is 3pm.
'Stoke: Brian Parsons, Carl White, Vincent Feausi, Dan Rees, Jan van Jaarsveld, Matt Lucas, Darren Lillywhite; Phil Perkins, Matt Evans, Ian White/Jamie Davenport; Andy Wilson, Ross Stirling, Simon Appleby, Jim Dixon, Selwyn St Bernard. Replacements: White/Davenport, Tom Northcote, Simon Humberstone.
