DON'T BUY!
That is the message to anyone who might be offered cut-price fireworks.
The warning comes as the police hunt continues for the gang who made off with fireworks worth thousands from a yard at a Hedge End superstore.
As reported in the Daily Echo raiders got away with fireworks worth more than £8,000 after breaking into a container at Homebase in Tollbar Way.
Renewing the appeal for information a police spokesman said: "If anyone is offered cheap fireworks in places like pubs they should contact us immediately on 0845 045 45 45."
Meanwhile, Homebase has issued a statement which says: "Homebase urges people to only buy fireworks from reputable retailers and to observe DTI and local fire authority guidelines.
"We also provide information and advice on how to keep yourself and your family safe this bonfire night."
