A Magical Musical Tour - Andover Musical and Operatic Society
THE mists of musical time were well and truly explored when the Andover Musical and Operatic Society gave us A Magical Musical Tour, ably directed by Joseph Crawley.
This historical musical romp took us from the delights of HMS Pinafore, with its gentle humour, to the rock and roll years of Buddy, finishing with the passionate and emotive songs from Les Miserables.
The company started off a little hesitantly, although this may have had something to do with the last-minute change of venue and performing on an unfamiliar stage. But they soon warmed up and the performances contained the spangle and sparkle that makes a magical musical tour work.
The dancing was stylish, the music great and the costumes good, although a little more attention should be given to mixing the sound. An enjoyable evening.
