JUSTIN ROSE took time off from his hectic tournament schedule in America to be at his home North Hants Club's Centenary Pro-Am .
Rose's presence at the tournament's gala dinner helped to boost fund-raising efforts on behalf of the Naomi House Children's Hospice to over £6,000.
One of the star items in the auction was the golf bag he had used when finishing fifth, alongside Ernie Els and Nick Price, in the 2003 US Open at Olympia Fields. The bag was sold for £1,750.
Other celebrities at the event included Sky Sports Rob McCaffery and former football stars Alan McInally and Chris Kamara.
Donnington Valley's Gareth Edwards was the leading professional after a two-under par round of 68 with Romsey's James Pitcher in second place alongside Graham Cowley (Army), Jon Le Roux (Worldham Park) and Scott Watson (Dummer) who had level par rounds of 70. Edwards also took victory in the pro-am with his team of Sam Briars, Terry Edwards and Rob Mackie.
