Eastleigh Beer Festival has been getting to parts that real ale does not normally reach.
For the popular festival, now in its 22nd year, attracted visitors from as far afield as Hungary.
The overseas visitors had heard about the festival through friends in Eastleigh and were keen to sample the British brews.
Wine and standard lagers are the usual tipple in their country, and the Hungarians were so impressed with the real ale that they stayed until closing time.
The choice of 16 different Scottish beers played a major role in reeling in a bumper attendance at the two-day festival at the Nightingale Centre.
Organiser Pat O'Neill said: "We have had an increase of between 15 and 20 per cent on last year's figures. There have been some good vibes about the Scottish beers and they brought a lot of people in."
The festival was organised by the South Hampshire branch of the Campaign for Real Ale. There was also plenty of ale pouring from the pumps of local breweries, and customers were able to warm up for Hallowe'en with pumpkin beer - guaranteed to keep spirits high.
